I really like the way this came together...what do you think?

I usually like decorating for Halloween (I have almost as many decorations for Halloween as I do for Christmas), but I'm having a hard time with it this year. Guess from not feeling all that great for the past couple months...oh my, has it been that long already?...the idea of dragging the stuff down from the attic and the fact that we just don't get that many children anymore, I just wasn't into it. (Feeling like an old fuddy-duddy!) Have any of you felt like this? Well, I finally did it last weekend...not everything mind you, but enough I think. Spiders, jack-o-lanterns, pumpkins, mice and a few skeletons. (Don't want to bring too much scary stuff out this year with Gianna).

Thanks for stopping by...let me know what you think!

CardzTV Stamp Challenge "Fall-o-ween Fun"

If you are looking for Digi Haven's Challenge "Halloween", click here.

CardzTV 's Challenge this week is "Fall-o-ween Fun". Create a Fall or Halloween project. Doesn't that sound like fun? This challenge runs from Oct 19 through the 25th. And don't forget, Mary is giving away a set of her stamps to the winner...make sure you enter!

Here is my project:

I made some little treat bags for Gianna's preschool class. (I have more of them, I just didn't photograph all of them....lol).

Finished Treat Bag: approximately 3" x 3 3/4"

Materials:
Cardstock: Purple, Light Purple, Orange and Green
Cricut Cartridge Mini Monsters Jack-O-Lantern, page 59 (Base, Layer 1 Base and Layer 1 Shift)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Oct 31st, "Halloween Greetings for Happy Trick or Treating!"
White Pigment Ink
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Spiderweb
Brown Marker (for stem)
White Galaxy Marker (for teeth)
Googly Eyes (two different sizes for each bag)
Lollipop Bag
Stapler
Candy

First, I cut out 3" x 4" rectangles and scored them at 3", to make a fold. I then stamped the sentiment with white pigment ink. I added the candy to the bag, folded it over and stapled the purple rectangle over it. I embossed the small 2" x 2" light purple squares and adhered them in the center of the dark purple. After I colored the teeth in, I assembled the jack-o-lantern, colored the stem, glued the googly eyes on and then glued it down to the light purple square.

Don't you think that Gianna will like them? I do... :)

Thanks for dropping by...leave me a comment. Don't forget to join the challenge over at CardzTV with Mary. You might just win a stamp set, if you do.

Digi Haven Pumpkin Challenge and Pumpkin Picking Photos

If you are looking for CardzTV Challenge "Buttons and Boo's", click here.

This is Digi Haven's "Pumpkin" Challenge (use a free digi with a pumpkin). This challenge is open for 2 weeks. (Oct 5th - 18th). Please link back to the original artist.

I made a card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: Orange, Red, Royal and White
Dustin Pike Digital Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
Scrappy Moms Clear Stamps
CuttlebugEmbossing Folders Organic Flourish
Black Embossing Powder
Queen and Co Pearls, Grass Green 2 Small
Mounting Tape

This card opens a little different from my "normal" ones...just thought I would change it up. I hope you can see the embossing right underneath the digi. It reminded me of pumpkin vines. What do you think?

Last weekend, my granddaughter was over and my husband and I took her pumpkin picking at a local farm. We had such a great day!

Here are a couple of photos:

Pop Pop and Gianna on the hayride

Gianna holding one of her pumpkins

We had so much fun...hayride, picking pumpkins and gourds, corn maze, feeding the animals, shopping (we bought a fresh peach pie and pumpkin bread...yum) and playing on the playground equipment. Afterwards, we bought some cornstalks at another local farm (I forgot to buy them at the first place) and then we went out for lunch. It was such a wonderful fun-filled day.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures...please leave a comment. Thanks for stopping by.

CardzTV Stamp Challenge "Buttons and Boo's"

If you are looking for the Digi Haven Challenge "Pumpkin", click here.

CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Challenge "Buttons and Boo's". Make a Halloween project using buttons! Challenge runs from October 5th to the 11th. Don't forget that Mary gives the winner their choice of one of her stamp sets. Who wouldn't want to win one her sets?

Here is my inspirational card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White and Black
Cricut Cartridge Simply Charmed Ghost, page 58 (Layer 1 Base and Shadow Base)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Oct 31st "Ghostly Greetings!"
Darice Embossing Essentials Folder Swirl
Mini Bat Punch
Black Pigment Ink
Large Iridescent Button
Round Black Puff Button
Wire
Black Embossing Powder
White Acrylic Paint
Black Sharpie

I just love the button moon, don't you? The background is embossed, however, instead of using the "right" side, I turned it over and swirled black pigment ink lightly over it. I like the effect it gave...something different. The spider is a button with the hole underneath. I took 3 pieces of thin wire, put them through the hole and twisted. Next, I clipped to length and spread them out to look like legs. (If you look closely, you will see them). I also took the back of a small paintbrush and dipped it into white paint, then dotted the eyes for the spider. Let dry and then dot the middle of the eyes with a black Sharpie. I used black embossing powder on the "Ghostly Greetings!". The ghost is single mounted.

I really like how this turned out. Do you? Sometimes, I find that I make a card and like it when I'm making it, but afterward, maybe a day later or so, I'm not so in love with it. It doesn't happen a lot, but...does this ever happen to you? Well, that's not the case this time...lol.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave me a comment.

Digi Haven October "Anything Goes"

It's our second monthly "Anything Goes" Challenge over at Digi Haven. Please use any free digital image (make sure it's free the whole month).

It's October and to me, when I think about October, I think Halloween! I actually have two cards. Both of the free images are from A Sucree Life.

First card:

Second Card:

Both Finished Cards: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
(First Card)
Cardstock: White and Black
A Sucree Life Digital Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
Inkssentials Glossy Accents
$1 Stamp "Spooky"
White Pigment Ink

(Second Card)
Cardstock: White, Ivory and Black
A Sucree Life Digital Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities Reverse Wonky Rectangles (4th Largest)
Inkssentials Glossy Accents
Computer Generated Sentiment
3-D Spider Sticker
Mounting Tape

The spider is completely covered with Glossy Accents to make him shiny. I also used Glossy Accents (although I think it is hard to see) on the web on the skeleton/bone card. It appears that I used two different Spellbinders for the "Bad to the Bone" sentiment, however, I only used one and I used my marker on each side of the shape. The effect is pretty cool, huh? The skeleton/bone image is single mounted, as is the sentiment.

I hope I inspired you with my cards and you decide to join the challenge (make sure you link back to the original artist and image...we want to give them the credit they so richly deserve).

Thanks for dropping by....leave me some love (comment). I always appreciate hearing from you.
